How do I personalize my uniform?

I have a super strict, super ugly uniform: a YELLOW PLAID TARTAN skirt, with a white-gone-wrong shirt with elbow length sleeves, plaid collar and paid edging at the bottom and sleeves. We aren’t allowed accessories with the exception of stud earrings, which as my ears get infected easily, cannot wear. We have dark green socks. A plus point is that we get to choose our own shoes but they have to be sensible (!) and black. Right now I have black converse. We’re not allowed to leave our hair open, and are only allowed black hairbands and clips and stuff, with only black embellishments. Additionally, the school gives us regulation yellow and green school bags which are HIDEOUS. IDEAS PLEASE!!
