In 1998, a Brazilian designer saw an opening in the fashion world. She drew on her country’s well known vitality to create new designs which took the fashion world by storm. Vix Bikinis is now an international online company with headquarters in California and outlets across the world.

The bikini as we know it dates back only to 1946 but an ancient mosaic shows Greek women wearing two piece costumes in athletic contests well before Christianity changed the calendar. This indicates something about the functionality of the costume. It holds the breasts firmly while allowing complete freedom of movement.

In fact, the support for the breasts may even assist freedom of movement. Extreme sports enthusiasts often wear swimsuits beneath other gear like wet suits. This again shows how comfortable bikinis are and how they give psychological support by giving support where it is needed, and freedom when wanted.

All people love to be admired but the beauty of the female form allows women to be especially admired for their beauty. The cut and style of apparel can complement the loveliness of the female form. A girl can delight in walking on a sandy beach feeling the warmth not only of the sun but also of admiring eyes. If it does become too much, she may flirt with one of the lovely cover ups that tease and distract. The same does not apply to as many men who are less like flowers.

A fair skinned blond girl with quite large hips and firm breasts might face the prospect of wearing a bikini on the beach challenging. A black top with deep V to show her cleavage to best advantage, matching black sarong wrapped around her waist but allowing her thighs to flash will drawing admiring looks and reflections on what may lie beneath the wrap.

Colors and color combinations are sufficiently prolific to keep a girl shopping for days. From uniform primary colors to pastel shades and tie-dyes the variety of stylish and fashionable shades is wide enough to suit most tastes. Then there is the distinctive designer label to complement individual taste.

Texture is really important, especially for male admirers who like to touch, or at a least imagine touching. A ruffled top can give a sexy feel as can a cut that leaves an inviting cleavage. Bottoms that are skillfully cut can be inviting and also artful in disguising deficiencies.

The long traditions of Puritanism, Victorian prudishness and sexual taboos make it difficult for some people to wear bikinis. Even though they may have the most beautiful bodies they cannot celebrate them because to do so seems like brazen, sluttish behavior. They may want to buy a bikini but be too coy to do so.
